Sometimes it seems as though I can’t win for loosing, in other words, the following words are dripping with frustration and the need for a big whoopie pie and an even bigger bowl of ice cream, so I can get back to rehab mode.
Yesterday was a great day running and at physical therapy, then I did about 2.5 hours of weed wacking in the back yard. Nothing hurt when I went to bed last night. This morning my left foot was a little painful, but nothing all that serious. I put on my socks and took Bennie for his morning walks. During his 2.5 mile walk things actually got better and I came home and iced my foot like I am supposed to.
I was getting ready to run, when I took off my sock this is what I found
It looks a lot worse than it feels. My foot doesn’t really hurt or anything, I thought originally it might be from where I got a little too aggressive with mobilization work last night with the golf ball and broke some blood vessels.
I have a feeling that I did something when I was weed wacking in the rough terrain and stumbled a couple of times, so I think that if I did something that was when I did it.
So I will do the ice routine, stay off it, until I see the PT Monday and go from there. I am really hoping that it is nothing serious, but I have a feeling that it might be a while before I run again.
Looks like I might get good at stationary bikes and weight lifting. Who knows, I might look like Ahnold in a while .
Ah well, I will get the whoopie pie and ice cream tomorrow to “celebrate” this setback and then keep smiling and doing what I can do. This is not the end of the world and just might be my bodies way of telling me that I need to slow down a little bit.
I will be back, it just might be a little bit longer.
Unfortunately, I don’t think it is that simple now, it is starting to ache a little bit.
