Today was originally going to be a long run, but life got in the way and by the time I would have been able to do it, we had snow flurry that was just enough to coat the road, err ice and give a nice coating of wonderful slipperiness. Which meant that I determined that it was too dangerous to run outside.
I like my ass, elbows, knees, wrists, tendons, muscles and head just they way they are now and running outside today, would have meant taking a chance, ah hell let’s be honest as graceful as I am, I would have been face planting or ass planting sooner or later. Which more than likely would have ended up hurting something.
Discretion is the better part of valor in situations like that.
I still needed to get a run in, but I also didn’t have 2 hours to run, so I took what I had – about an hour and did 6.0 miles on the treadmill at Champions. Sometimes you just take what you can when you can. I really didn’t think that I was going to run very fast today, running outside the past 2 days used different muscles, because of running on ice most of the time (which requires a different gait and focus).
