There has not been a lot of consistency this week, hell really for the past few weeks, but at least I was able to get outside for a few runs, instead of doing the majority of them on the treadmill.
Footing has not been the greatest (courtesy of the ice storm back in December), but good enough to be able to run, well at least until Friday, when the snow squall put just enough snow on top of the ice to make it bad and on Saturday, another day of freezing rain and icing conditions that meant being inside all day.
Mother nature has sort of taken control of my training schedule, but hey that is winter in Maine. You just have to be flexible and be willing to do what you can when you can. Sometimes when you force the issue, it can cause other problems.
One thing I am learning is to be smarter about when and where I run.
The good news was I was able to get the watch band on my Garmin replaced, instead of having to replace the unit (initially I thought I had broken the casing, but I got lucky). So that is back to normal again and working fine.
I have a few other things in the works that should prove to be interesting over the next couple of weeks.
