After yesterday’s tough long run, I needed a nice recovery run and the second part of today’s run was just that a nice recovery run.
I admit it — I went out too fast the first half and and had to force myself to slow down on the second half.
Sometimes you just feel better than you are supposed to, but it is then that you have to really think about what you are doing and then do what you are supposed to do. Rest is part of any training cycle and after a long run I know that if I want to keep running uninjured I need to run slower the next day or two.
As you can see below I did.
Downback was very runnable and a nice surface to run on, even though in a few places the snow was hiding some ice.
On the way back I decided to shot a quick video showing me running down there and to see if I could get a couple of shots that I could use here and maybe some place in future.
Which shoes did I use? Why the Pearl Izumi N1 Trals of course and they did great.
