This morning Bennie and I were doing his longer walk down-back. It was still chilly (that single digit thing) and Bennie wasn’t really thrilled about being out there, you could tell just by the way he was puttzing along. Finally, we got down around the lower gate and he suddenly began to limp. I still am not sure which leg he was favoring and I don’t thing he really knew either. I cleaned off all of his paws and we walked a bit further and he started to “limp” again.
I asked him if he wanted to go home and he promptly turned around and started to walk pretty damn normally. Little bugger, just didn’t want to go any further and we didn’t have anymore “limping” all the way back home.
However, it was still was purty chilly, so I decided to do another treadmill run at Planet Fitness.
I wasn’t sure about what I was going to do, but I wanted to do at least 4.0 miles
- 1.0 Mile @ 7.2 mph
- 1.0 Mile @ 7.4 mph
- 1.0 Mile @ 7.6 mph
- .25 @ 7.7 mph
- .25 @ 7.8 mph
- .10 @ 8.0 mph
- .10 @ 8.1 mph
- .10 @ 8.2 mph
- .20 @ 8.6 mph
I felt strong the entire time, but I am still getting a “soreness/burning feeling” on the soles of my feet still when I run in the Bondi 5’s. I am not sure what that is all about, but I have a feeling it has something to do with the thickness of the insoles. If by the time I get 50 miles on them they are still doing this, I will be switching out the insoles. I want to keep them stock for as long as possible, but I am not going to put up with that feeling on the soles of my feet over the long-term.
Overall, it was an excellent run and pretty good confidence builder.
Oh yeah, I think I got my FR 230 and footpod calibrated to be pretty close to one another. I set it to 86% and for the 4.0 miles that the treadmill said, my watch was at 4.04. Pretty close, so I will probably go ahead set it for 85% and see if that comes just a bit closer. Although I would be pretty happy with .01 off per mile – that is close enough.
