This morning I wanted to get in an easy 4-5 miles, but really didn’t feel like running laps on Philbrick or running down the Bitch. Which meant after walking 2.5 miles down-back on snowmobile tracks that I headed into Augusta for a run.
I love running on the Rail Trail, but wasn’t too impressed with what I saw initially.
It was runnable, as long as I didn’t try to go too fast. I did decide that I wasn’t going to come back by way of the Rail Trail, walking wouldn’t be an issue, but there was too much ice under that snow this morning that I couldn’t see. So after running to Hallowell, I ran back via 2nd/Sewall Street.
Now that was a mistake. The sidewalks sucked and the Women’s March in Augusta was winding down. Which meant a LOT more traffic than usual along the back way. Oh well, I made it through and finished the run feeling pretty comfortable. The Gravity 5’s did well and I was happy with how they did in the slush and crap that I encountered during the run.
However, I did get some photos over in Hallowell and Augusta of the areas that were flooded last week.
